This is the second snow person installation I’ve done. Over 450 mini-snowpeople taking over a yard in Ravenswood manner in Chicago. Cold fingers, cold bones, but worth it. I’ve had several people ask me if it was worth it? It took about 10 hours to create and install and with the warmup in Chicago this week they were gone in only 48 hours. And the answer is a resounding: YES. It was totally worth it. There is something lovely about returning to play, and it’s even better when it’s infused with art.
Every morning during the pandemic, I’d make myself a very beautiful egg. Then I’d demolish it by stuffing it in my pie hole. And it has been a lesson in joy & impermanence. I did it because it brought me joy. I gave it care. I took my time. I did this because it's a simple thing that makes made me happy (and kept me a little more sane!)
